Psychotherapy is a type of behavioral intervention that has been proven to help people with many different types of behavioral and emotional difficulties. It can help reduce or eliminate troubling symptoms so people can experience a better quality of life.
We conduct psychotherapy in an individual setting. Meaning that patients work directly with their assigned doctor. Sessions are typically held once weekly for approximately an hour. Psychotherapy can be short-term (i.e., only a few sessions dealing with acute issues), or long-term (i.e., months or years dealing with chronic issues). Along with their psychotherapist, patients help plan the length and goals of treatment.
Psychotherapy is a process that involves active effort. Here at NNI, we believe that the relationship between patient and psychotherapist is essential to help produce maximum benefit.
